A look at the Defence news 27 April - 3 May

During NATO Exercise Orion 26, at least 12,500 military personnel from a variety of countries engaged in combat exercises in the highest spectrum of force. JISTARC – the Joint Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition & Reconnaissance Command of the Royal Netherlands Army – took part in the training exercises in France with 155 military personnel. JISTARC provided a reconnaissance squadron and a battery of reconnaissance drones. The personnel were given every opportunity to improve their intelligence operations

HNLMS Friesland intercepts yet another shipment of drugs

This is the second time in a week that the Dutch naval vessel HNLMS Friesland has intercepted a drug shipment in the Caribbean Sea whilst flying the flag of the Caribbean Coast Guard. Two interception craft were deployed to apprehend the drug-smuggling vessel. The four suspects on board and the seized contraband were handed over to the Aruba Police Force at the Coast Guard Support Point in Savaneta.
