DSA and elections: Where to find all the information
CTU summarizes current information regarding CTU's competences under the Digital Services Regulation (not only) in the pre-election period.
Election campaigns, including political advertising, are increasingly moving online. In compliance with the European Commission's guidelines, it is therefore the role of the CTU, as the coordinator of digital services under the DSA, to monitor how large platforms fulfil their obligations under the DSA and to promptly deal with any shortcomings identified. If you suspect that the terms of the DSA are being violated, including systemic failures of online platforms that could affect the regularity of electoral processes, you can contact the platform itself, send a complaint to [email protected], or use our online form.
All information on DSA can be found on https://www.dsacesko.ctu.gov.cz/ (CZ only)
Within its competence, CTU focuses on technical and procedural aspects of the functioning of digital services to the extent required by the DSA. For example, on the functionality of systems for reporting illegal content, the transparency of recommendation system algorithms, the protection of users from inappropriate moderation, the protection of minors, and cooperation with the European Commission in addressing systemic risks, including automated abuse of services.
On the contrary, CTU does not evaluate content on platforms, does not decide which content is or is not illegal, and has no authority to order removal or other modifications of content.
