CMA response to consultation on refining the UK's competition regime
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has responded to the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) consultation on proposals to improve the pace, predictability, proportionality and process of the UK's competition regime.
The CMA has responded to DBT’s consultation on refining the UK’s competition regime.
Our response addresses each of the areas of reform proposed in the consultation, against the backdrop of our strategy of promoting competition and protecting consumers to drive economic growth and improve household prosperity, a core pillar of which is ‘fostering a UK regulatory landscape that attracts investment and instils business confidence’. The ongoing programme of work to transform 4 important aspects of how we work: pace, predictability, proportionality and process is designed to support that objective.
