PRESS RELEASE: European Commission approved reimbursement of net costs to Česká pošta
Based on the notification submitted by the Czech Republic, the European Commission has assessed the compatibility of this reimbursement, which constitutes public aid, with EU rules and the internal market and concluded that the reimbursement and its amount (maximum reimbursement of EUR 1.5 billion per year) are compatible with these rules.
Following the European Commission's decision, CTU will finalise the proceedings for the reimbursement of net costs, or preliminary net costs, so that Česká pošta can be reimbursed for the verified amount of net costs representing the disproportionate burden incurred by it as a result of fulfilling its obligation to ensure the availability of universal services throughout the Czech Republic.
