PRESS RELEASE: New functions at V-Portal
The main change is that the results of drive tests performed by CTU staff are newly included. These measurement results add new information to the coverage simulations gained from data provided by the operators and replace the formerly published results from stationary measurement which was always done only at one selected place in a municipality (mostly nearby the seat of the municipality authority). Now, results have been made available from measurements which CTU, so far, strives to perform in all inhabited areas from where complaints were received on insufficient coverage by mobile networks signal. Drive tests results were previously included in V-Portal only for motorways and corridors.

Subsequent evaluation is carried out from the smallest territorial units – so called “basic residential units” (each municipality may have up to dozens of such units). When evaluating the territorial units, detailed information is now better available regarding coverage at the place where the measurement was made. The legend for the "Evaluation" tab in the left panel "Settings" shows what each colour means. Green colours indicate that signal at the location exceed the limit level for coverage. Such locations cannot be included into the list of "white spots" even if only one operator would reach such coverage level. On the other hand, red and two shades of orange indicate that the measured location is covered below the coverage limit. If this situation is equal for all three mobile operators and both technologies (4G and 5G), the basic residential unit is assessed as a 'white spot' and is included in the list of white spots. The remaining colours indicate that there is either no population in the area or no measurements have been undertaken so far or measurements have been performed but ware insufficient.

The evaluation of coverage from the measurement of motorways and corridors has also been newly modified, with the addition of a download option in the "Data" tab. In addition, the controls have been improved and some of the background documents have been updated. For example, the data in the Radio Broadcast Module contain the latest DAB+ broadcast background documents.
