Appointment and reappointment of Non-Executive Directors to the Departmental Board
The Lord Chancellor and Deputy Prime Minister has reappointed Jennifer Rademaker as Non-Executive Director and appointed Gurpreet Dehal as Non-Executive Director to the Departmental Board and ARAC Chair.
The Lord Chancellor and Deputy Prime Minister has reappointed Jennifer Rademaker as Non-Executive Director to the Departmental Board for a second term of 3 years from 21 August 2026. He has also appointed Gurpreet Dehal as Non-Executive Director to the Departmental Board Chair of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee for a 3 year term from 1 April 2026.
Non-Executive Board members
Our non-executives are senior figures from outside the department who bring a diverse mix of expertise and skills from across the public and private sector. They all:
- give guidance and advice to MOJ leaders and ministers
- support and challenge management on the department’s strategic direction
- provide support in monitoring and reviewing progress
Chair of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee
The role of Chair is to advise the Board and Accounting Officer on matters of financial accountability, risk, control, assurance and governance, with an understanding of the objectives of the Department and its current major issues and risks.
Biographies
Jennifer Rademaker
Jennifer joined the Ministry of Justice as a Non-Executive Board Member on 21 August 2023. She brings over 35 years of global experience in payments technology and financial services. She has a strong track record in leading transformative technology initiatives, driving rapid scale of products and services, and de-risking deployment of new technology and technology migrations. Before her retirement in 2024, Jennifer worked for Mastercard for 20 years in global and regional roles in technology delivery, product development, sales, strategy, consulting, and future of work. Her career includes a consistent focus on culture, engagement and inclusivity.
Jennifer is the chair of the board of trustees at Fine Cell Work and a NED at Fair4All Finance. She holds a BSc in Statistics from Lehigh University and a MSc in Statistics from Iowa State.
Gurpreet Dehal
Gurpreet Dehal is currently Chair and Pro Chancellor at the University of Derby (since Aug 2023) and a member of Governing Council at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (since Jan 2024).
Having pursued a portfolio career since 2014, he has held various roles at the Ministry of Defence (2015-2024) including Board member and ARAC chair for The Defence Infrastructure Organisation, and has also been a Board Member with the Office for Students (The Higher Education Regulator in England)
His prior executive career was in Financial Services, where he focused initially on financial risk management before moving to run Global Operations for trading and lending businesses.
