Parliamentarians from CIS Countries and WHO Experts to Discuss Universal Health Coverage Strategy in Avaza 9.10.2026 Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States Rusko Zdravotníctvo a nemocnice Medzinárodné organizácie Konferencie a veľtrhy On 7 October 2026, Turkmenistan will host the Second International Conference “Universal Health Coverage and Sustainable Development Goals”. The event is organized by the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations, the WHO Regional Office for Europe, and the Mejlis of Turkmenistan. The conference is being held as part of Turkmenistan’s CIS Chairmanship in 2026 and the Year of Health Protection declared in the CIS under the motto “Coordinated Policies and National Strategies.” The event follows the first conference, which was successfully held in November 2021 as part of the autumn session of the IPA CIS. The conference is expected to bring together speakers and representatives of the parliaments and ministries of health of the CIS countries, the WHO Regional Office for Europe, the CIS Executive Committee, international organizations, as well as experts in public health and law. Key topics for discussion will include the development of primary health care, sustainable access to medicines and pharmaceutical security, and the role of parliaments in shaping health-oriented tax policies.
