This statement provides an update on the AAIB investigation into a takeoff from the incorrect runway intersection at Luton Airport by a Boeing 737-800 on 22 April 2025. The aircraft took off from a runway intersection using takeoff power calculated for the full length of the runway. The aircraft rotated less than 200 m from the end of the paved runway surface, which it crossed at 13 ft agl.
