In February Monitoring Report we focus mainly on the activities of the Telecommunications Academy, its annual results and the development of activities to protect children in the online environment. We also provide a report on the negotiations for the preparation of the World Radiocommunication Conference and a regular quarterly overview of complaints and questions.   





Telecommunication Academy: Stable growth and further development in 2026

In 2025, the Telecommunications Academy of the Czech Telecommunication Office (CTU) confirmed its role as an important educational and awareness-raising platform in the field of electronic communications, postal services and digital security. The Academy built on the previous successful period and developed its activities across the target groups and regions of the Czech Republic. During the year there were 303 lectures attended by a total of 7,188 people, including 4,014 children and adolescents. See more on page 2 of the Monitoring Report.

CTU strengthens awareness-raising in the field of child protection in the online environment 

It is precisely the activities of the Academy concerning children and adolescents that are significantly on the rise. We organized a meeting with journalits where lecturers Jaroslav Doležal and Václav Linhart presented the seriousness of the main risks to the media and discussed possible solutions. However, the responsibility and overview of parents is the most important. Therefore, a guide for all parents who are interested in the safety of their children in the online world can be found on the CTU website. This guide is an effective tool to increase the safety of children and also contains important contacts for consulting or seeking professional help. More on page 7 of the Monitoring report.

CTU hosted a meeting in Prague to prepare for the World Radiocommunication Conference

On 3-6 February 2026, under the auspices of the Czech Telecommunication Office, the fourth meeting of the CEPT CPG PTA working group, focused on the preparation of European positions for the WRC 27 conference, took place in Prague. The discussion focused on the future use of the radio spectrum and on the protection of scientific radiocommunication services. See more on page 4 of the Monitoring Report.
