Patria commissions RENK to supply additional HSWL 076 transmissions for TRACKX vehicle family.
Augsburg, October 6, 2026 – RENK Group AG, a leading provider of propulsion solutions for the military sector, has received a substantial order from Patria for HSWL 076 transmissions worth €30 million for the TRACKX vehicle family. Patria commissioned RENK Group to supply an initial pre-production batch of transmissions at the beginning of the year. Delivery of the new and significantly more comprehensive order is scheduled to begin in 2027.
“The announced vehicle procurements by Finland and Sweden are a key step towards series production for TRACKX. We have been involved with this vehicle family through the development, testing and pre-production stages, and will now be continuing this cooperation with Patria,” said Michael Masur, CEO of Vehicle Mobility Solutions (VMS) at RENK Group. “At the same time we are working with Patria to further develop the technological potential of the platform – with a particular view to manned and unmanned vehicle concepts.”
Finland and Sweden initiated their first procurement of TRACKX vehicles at the end of September. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027.
HSWL 076 also the basis for manned and unmanned applications
The HSWL 076 was specially developed for light tracked vehicles in the 10 to 20-ton range with a compact design, a weight of around 700 kg and high power density. The transmission combines steering, braking and propulsion functions in a digitally controlled drivetrain architecture and thereby also forms the basis for functions such as remote control, platooning and future autonomous capabilities.
RENK Group and Patria are also working together in connection with capabilities for manned and unmanned ground vehicles also based on the HSWL 076. The two companies presented a concept for a next-generation heavy unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris in June. The demonstration model combines Patria’s modular TRACKX vehicle platform with RENK’s HSWL 076 transmission and drive-by-wire mobility architecture.
The architecture is suitable for manned, optionally unmanned and tracked vehicle programs specifically developed for unmanned operations.
