Grenergy earns MSCI’s highest ESG rating, AAA, for the fourth consecutive year, with an improved score of 9.7 out of 10.
Madrid, 9 September 2026. Grenergy has once again achieved MSCI’s highest AAA ESG rating, a widely used reference in international financial markets for integrating sustainability considerations into investment decisions. The company has improved its score to 9.7 out of 10, consolidating its position among the world’s most sustainable utilities.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that MSCI has awarded Grenergy its highest AAA rating, following a peer-based assessment that evaluates how companies manage the key ESG risks and opportunities relevant to their sector.
In this year’s assessment, Grenergy’s improved score reflects, in particular, progress in its environmental performance and recognition of the company’s ability to capture business opportunities associated with renewable energy.
In this context, Grenergy continues to develop hybrid solar generation and energy storage platforms in new geographies, replicating a model that originated in Chile with Oasis de Atacama and has since expanded into other markets, including Europe through Iberian Oasis.
At the same time, the company is developing Greenbox, its stand-alone energy storage platform in Europe, further strengthening its commitment to flexible and innovative energy solutions. These initiatives are supported by innovative financing structures and long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), key tools to drive growth, strengthen investment capacity and accelerate the energy transition.
The improved MSCI score also recognises Grenergy’s progress in other key areas, including corporate governance, with improved recognition of the company’s ability to manage governance-related risks and the strength of its practices in this area. In this regard, Grenergy established a dedicated Sustainability Committee this year to strengthen Board-level oversight of ESG matters and further integrate them into corporate strategy.
With this rating, Grenergy maintains and reinforces its position among the highest-rated companies in its sector for sustainability, reflecting a robust ESG strategy recognised by leading international rating agencies.
For María Rodríguez, Sustainability Director at Grenergy, “Receiving MSCI’s highest AAA ESG rating for the fourth consecutive year recognises the strength and consistency of our sustainability strategy. Looking ahead, we are focused on delivering measurable positive impact and long-term value for our local communities and the environment “.
