Baroness Stuart’s term as Royal Mint Advisory Committee (RMAC) Chair extended for five months

Baroness Stuart of Edgbaston was reappointed as Chair of the Royal Mint Advisory Committee (RMAC) for a term of five months.

Baroness Stuart’s term began on 1 March 2026 and will end in July 2026.

Baroness Stuart was first appointed as RMAC Chair on 1 March 2021 for a term of five years.

Members of the Royal Mint Advisory Committee are appointed by His Majesty the King on the recommendation of the Prime Minister and the Economic Secretary to the Treasury.
These appointments are regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments, who provides independent assurance that appointments are made in accordance with the Government’s Principles of Public Appointments and Governance Code.
Positions on the Royal Mint Advisory Committee are unpaid.
Baroness Stuart joined the House of Lords in 2020 as a non-party affiliated peer. She was appointed as the First Civil Service Commissioner in March 2022 and is also currently the Chair of the Wilton Park Board and Advisory Council.
Baroness Stuart has confirmed she has not engaged in any political activity in the last five years.
