New city center location will put international academic publisher at the heart of the community.
Leading knowledge and learning publisher Taylor & Francis has announced plans to relocate its Oxfordshire main office from Milton Park, Abingdon to Oxford’s city center. The new premises at Cantay House on Park End Street will open up facilities to researchers and local residents, featuring a café, event facilities, and co-creation spaces where members of the community can engage with authors and experts, browse and purchase Taylor & Francis content.
Central to the publisher’s plans are publicly accessible spaces, designed to support engagement with academic and professional information in ways that will benefit Taylor & Francis’ authors, academic partners, and the local economy.
Alex Robinson, Managing Director Academic and Chief Commercial Officer at Taylor & Francis, said: “The new location and facilities will help us to form much deeper connections with Oxford’s communities, including researchers and students at its universities and institutions, the city’s wider population and the visitors it attracts from around the world. We have a host of exciting plans for how we can use the spaces to bring all these groups together, fostering knowledge sharing and giving everyone the opportunity to learn something new.”
Oxfordshire-based Taylor & Francis colleagues will move to the 30,000 sq ft building, which is currently under extensive renovation, in early 2028. Close to Oxford’s main railway station and well connected to local public transport, the modern facility will meet the highest sustainability standards, whilst preserving the building’s original character.
Stuart Blackley, Executive Vice President of Operations at Taylor & Francis, added: “As our Milton Park lease ended, we chose our new location based on what colleagues told us mattered most: location, facilities, and spaces that help teams work together effectively. We’re now designing these spaces with our colleagues to ensure Cantay House makes the most of our time together and strengthens our relationships with partners and customers.”
Blackley added: “Cantay House represents an exciting new chapter for Taylor & Francis, and we will be working closely with colleagues to achieve a smooth transition. Most of all, we are excited about this amazing new home for the company which will help us to achieve our long-term ambitions.”
